Our Infant programs are for babies from 6 weeks of age through approximately 18 months. Our program is focused on keeping your Baby happy, engaged, and secure. We personalize care for each child based on his or her unique schedule, and any other special attention he/she requires. As a result, the age-range in each classroom is generally no more than six months.
Typical Day:
A typical day consists of: Arrival; quiet play; exploration, Baby exercise, breakfast, bottle feeding, diapering/hand washing; stroller walks, outside playground; lunch; Baby exercise, tummy time, large motor activity; diapering/hand washing; reading; music and singing; quiet time; rock and talk to infants; nap time; diapering/hand washing, bottle feeding time; stroller walks, outside playground, Baby exercise, tummy time, small & large motor activities, rest time; diapering/ hand washing, reading, music and singing; dismissal.
Enrichment:
The program is typically arranged in centers that stimulate learning. Specialty teachers also provide age appropriate music and movement for all children enrolled in the program including our babies.
Experiential Learning:
Teachers interact one-on-one with the infants; the children are frequently held and carried to provide them with a wide variety of stimuli and experiences. Our staff talks to the infants before, during, and after moving the child. Each baby follows his or her own unique schedule. Parents provide baby food, diapers, formula and bottles as needed. The maximum child to educator ratio is 4:1.
Once children are able to sit up at the feeding table their curiosity is constantly challenged by sensory activities such as shaving cream, musical puzzles, and soft books. In addition, the teachers are constantly singing and clapping to help develop all of the age appropriate listening and sensory challenges. We encourage the children to develop independence in eating and walking as they transition into our toddler program.
The older infant classrooms have their own, artificial grass covered playground with soft toys, balls and riding toys to help with gross motor skill development.
The infant and toddler classrooms also have the chance to play in our atrium play center that has soft play toys, sensory tables, building blocks and riding toys.
