Once in our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms, our teachers take the hands-on learning approach to a new level. Math, science, language, reading, writing, art and more pave the way to preparing children for Kindergarten. .
Our Pre-K program is designed to get the children ready for Kindergarten from both an academic and social standpoint. We continue to use non-religious components of the Abeka curriculum and supplement this with other learning tools from the Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) to get the kids Kindergarten ready. From an academic standpoint, we want the children to be confident when entering Kindergarten. While some children may be reading at the end of Pre-K, we believe that the children also need an equal dose of learning through play in order to develop the social skills to be successful in a larger classroom setting.

We continue to emphasize center based play and small group activities in order to develop the social skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten. Setting routines and expectations for acceptable behavior becomes even more critical so that the children can be successful in school.
The Pre-K classrooms have their own playgrounds that include playground equipment, riding toys, and a basketball hoop. There is also a an open field for football and soccer.
During the school year, the Pre-K classrooms will take several field trips to nearby activities including an HEB tour, local parks and a local pumpkin patch. The children also get to participate during the in-house field trips that include ceramics, cookie decorating and puppet shows. The Pre-K children also get to participate in a weekly exercise program called “Stretch & Grow”.
At the end of each school year, the Pre-K students get to participate in a Pre-K graduation ceremony that includes songs, dances and diploma presentations. This is often a highlight as parents, and grandparents alike, get to watch and participate.
